Urban Ag Class at Marlow & Daughters

Professor Greyson returned with her awesome summer session NYU Urban Agriculture class. They toured Daughters, Marlow & Sons, and Diner, learning about how we do what we do and asking great questions. It was an inspiring day for everyone!

Here is Christian describing the je ne sais quoi of grass fed and finished beef.

Miss Faye Clarice Pichler of Daughters will be judging the Homemade Kimchi contest at Kimchipalooza this Sunday, July 10, part of Cook Out NYC on Governor’s Island! Come check it out. From Kheedim of Mama O’s :

“Following the kimchi making demo, we are hosting the first ever Mama O’s Homemade Kimchi Challenge!   This contest is open to everyone that makes kimchi at home.  Come get your kimchi judged by the pickiest pickle pickers on the planet!  Cathy Erway (The Art of Eating In), Miss Faye Pichler (Marlow & Daughters), Joann Kim (Greenpoint Food Market), a mystery judge….  And…  Mama O!  Yep that’s right, Mama O will be there in full effect mode.  (Oversize sun visor? Check.  Some type of vest??? Check.) The contest is an opportunity for the budding home pickler to the seasoned fermenter to make what ever type of kimchi that they want.  Get super creative or go really traditional, what ever your heart desires.  Next bring the kimchi to Kimchipalooza and see how it stacks up against others.    If it’s kimchi and you’re proud we want to try it.  There is a cash prize of $100 for the top kimchi.  2nd is $50  3rd $25.”
